History

Since 1984, Mr. Joseph P. Davis III has been principally advising families, individuals, foundations, endowments, and small businesses. Over his twenty-eight year career, Mr. Davis has earned the trust and confidence of his clients through his effective and ethical approach to their needs, goals, and hopes.

In 2009, Mr. Davis moved Davis Wealth Management from a large brokerage firm to DWM Advisors, LLC, motivated by the feeling that in 2008 the financial landscape as we knew it had inalterably changed. Mr. Davis felt that the size and bureaucracy of the larger financial organizations were stripping them of the agility to meet the growingly complex needs of the day. Mr. Davis felt strongly that the only way in which his team would be nimble enough to meet the needs of their clients going forward was for Davis Wealth Management to restructure itself as an independent advisor.

Davis Wealth Management's transition from a broker dealer platform to that of the registered investment advisor, DWM Advisors, LLC, allows DWM Advisors to join together with its clients in the new, complex world in which we live, for a single purpose, free from any conflicts of interests.

At DWM Advisors, Mr. Davis will also continue his focus on the types of social entrepreneurship and charitable giving efforts that have long been a hallmark of his life. Through the years, Mr. Davis has done extensive work for Sheltering Wings, The Women's Center, and The Morehead Planetarium. Most recently, Mr. Davis led an initiative that successfully financed and built a free health clinic in Burkina Faso, a landlocked nation in West Africa. Mr. Davis's newest vision is to build an environmentally friendly commuter bike path for people who work in the Triangle area.
